4 Creative Alternatives to New Years Resolutions

Instead of lofty new years resolutions that end up dissolving after 28 days, here are a few other ways to start the year with intention!
Are you an avid journaller comme moi? The Year Compass (A free journalling resource to close out 2025 and dream forward 2026) is a wonderful in-depth processing tool that I cherish each year since a dear friend I met at a monastery in France shared it with me.
Create a list of your top values - maybe you write the list and put it on your wall, maybe you start every day reciting your values for yourself and start to live according to them day by day. Here's a Values List from Brené Brown, and the Live your Values deck of cards from artist Lisa Congdon.
Get a bunch of magazines, glue, a big piece of cardboard, and a pair of scissors - create a collage vision board. This is extra fun with friends - you don't have to take it super seriously (or rather, you can take the silliness and playfulness extremely seriously.)
Create your own 2026 Bingo - this is a fun way to collect a number of goals, both large and small. It can be fun to do with a friend or partner, especially if you choose an enticing reward (such as a very good dinner out) should you get a bingo!
Is building in sustainability, rest, creativity, and community part of your aspiration for 2026?
